Ornamental Steel Fences Around Lake Norman
The classic wrought-iron look in powder-coated steel — for formal frontage, estate entries, and lakefront homes.
Nothing makes an entrance like an ornamental metal fence. For estate entries, formal front yards, and custom lakefront homes, an ornamental steel fence and gate give you the classic wrought-iron look with a level of craftsmanship you can see from the road.
Modern ornamental steel is stronger and far lower-maintenance than traditional wrought iron. We install it in classic and custom profiles — flat-top, spear and finial, and arched — with matching walk and drive gates, finished in durable powder-coat.
Ornamental Steel options
Flat-top, spear and finial, puppy-picket, and arched designs.
Arched walk gates and estate drive gates, ready for gate operators.
Powder-coated galvanized steel, black as standard.
Front yards, estate entries, pool areas, courtyards, and decorative accents.
Built for local conditions
Around the lake, humidity is the enemy of metal. Ornamental steel is galvanized under a powder-coat finish, and we seal every field cut so the finish lasts. For lots right on the water where moisture is constant, we'll walk you through whether aluminum is the better fit.

Ornamental Steel fence FAQs
Is ornamental steel the same as wrought iron?
It gives you the same classic look, but it's made from galvanized, powder-coated steel instead of solid iron. That makes it lighter, more consistent, and much less prone to rust, with far less maintenance.
What is the difference between steel and aluminum fence?
Ornamental steel is heavier and stronger. Aluminum looks similar, costs less, and can't rust, so it is often the better choice right on the water.
Can you install a gate operator?
We build drive gates that are ready for an automatic gate operator and can coordinate the operator installation.
How do I maintain an ornamental steel fence?
Rinse it periodically and touch up any chips in the powder coat promptly to keep moisture out.
